A well-respected nutritionist and Registered Dietitian, Angela Berrill is also a nutrition educator and accomplished speaker and presenter. Angela is passionate about health and nutrition and believes in finding ways for people to enjoy food while also nurturing their bodies.

As an expert nutritionist, Angela enjoys the educating the public on the importance of nutrition and is regularly called on to share her expertise and opinions by the media.

Angela is the nutrition myth-buster for TVNZ1s new Eat Well For Less New Zealand series. Over the years she has appeared on a number of other well-known TV shows where she talks about all things nutrition. Angela is also a freelance nutrition writer who has contributed to many well-known publications.

Angela is also a regular speaker at various conferences and seminars about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating. Her down-to-earth and practical approach leaves attendees feeling motivated and inspired to make life-long changes.

Due to her strong media skills and passion for raising the awareness of dietitians and promoting accurate nutrition messages in the media, Angela was the inaugural convener of the Dietitians New Zealand Media Special Interest Group (SIG) in 2015 and again in 2018-19. A goal of Angela’s has always been to empower degree-qualified nutrition professionals to become more media-savvy. With this in mind, Angela started www.themediasavvydietitian.com where she provides mentoring to those nutrition professionals who are keen to get involved with the media.

Angela holds Bachelor's degrees in Consumer and Applied Science (Human Nutrition) and Commerce (Marketing Management), from the University of Otago, in New Zealand. After completing her post-graduate training in Dietetics in 2002, Angela worked in food industry. During her time in industry, Angela’s nutrition and marketing knowledge was an integral part of several high-profile global product launches. Angela also drove the reformulation of existing brands to meet strict nutrition brand guidelines, which she developed.

While Angela thrived working within food industry and a corporate environment, in 2008 she was up for a new challenge and ABC Nutrition Ltd was formed. ABC Nutrition, a multi-faceted nutrition consultancy business, was founded on the belief that good nutrition and eating well should be easy and uncomplicated. Over the last decade, ABC Nutrition has expanded to include a team of 20+ dietitians and nutritionists across New Zealand, who have expertise in clinical practice and rehabilitation, as well as delivering seminars and workshops.

In addition to her work with ABC Nutrition, Angela was the National Nutrition Advisor at the Heart Foundation of New Zealand from 2015 - 2017. Angela is also a proud mum to two young boys and is experiencing first-hand the pressures of juggling family and work commitments while ensuring the optimal health and nutrition of her family.
